The Honorable Marie-Claude Bibeau, Member of Parliament for Compton-Stanstead and Minister for International Development and La Francophonie, invites young people between the ages of 16 and 24 who live in the constituency to submit their candidature to participate in the second Compton-Stanstead and Greater Sherbrooke youth Council.
Last year’s Youth Council was so successful that the initiative will be renewed for the year 2017-2018. The main objective is to enable young people in our community to participate in federal politics. “I would like to offer them the opportunity to share with me their vision of the future and to discuss the issues they hold dear,” says Marie-Claude Bibeau.
The Youth Council will bring together thirty young people from different educational institutions, municipalities and living environments to reflect the diversity of our region. It will meet four times during the year and the first meeting will take place in November 2017.
This experience will give young people the opportunity to express themselves and to become concretely involved in their community by carrying out a community project.
Who can apply? Youth from Compton-Stanstead and Greater Sherbrooke area who are between 16 and 24 years of age.
Deadline: Friday, October 27, 2017
